The Lake Country House and Spa located in Llangammarch Wells, Powys has everything you will be looking for in a hotel. Sat on the banks of our lakes and the River Irfon, our privately owned, luxurious country house hotel and spa, affords a complete retreat.
All of our individually designed bedrooms are supremely comfortable, each having its own charm and character. Beautiful fabrics and elegant furniture invite you in to a world far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
Whether you prefer a bedroom, a Junior Suite, Suite or our Stateroom, we have endeavoured to think of your every need and comfort at The Lake Country House. The main house itself is very appealing and traditional in style and elegance.
Our wonderfully, creaky old staircase at the hotel leads you to an array of luxury suites and bedrooms, and our Junior Suites have doors opening onto the grounds; making it perfect for dogs to accompany well behaved owners!
To the right of Reception is our lovely Oak Room, which as its name denotes is panelled in fine oak and is made all the cosier by the addition of a log burning fire. Towards the rear, is our all important licensed bar, just waiting for your order. Incidentally, this is just one of our function suites which can be hired for private events/parties etc., and the bar can, of course be closed off should this not be required.
The Grand Lounge - A capacious room; having large windows affording a light and airy feel, and providing stunning views across the lawns to the river beyond. Although quite sizeable, little enclaves and cosy corners abound in this room, providing ample opportunity to sit with friends or family, to snuggle up with a good book; play board games or just simply to soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Delightful objets d’art and paintings lovingly adorn the whole area, along with bowls of fresh fruit and displays of freshly cut flowers, culminating in a very cosy, homely ambiance in which to totally switch off and relax.
The Orangery - Naturally flowing on from the Grand Lounge, French doors deliver you into our light and airy Orangery; a more recent addition to the old house, and where delicious selections of Welsh breakfasts are served each morning. Interconnecting doors connect into the Grand Dining Room, which can be opened up to extend the dining area for Weddings and functions.
You can enjoy a sumptuous dining experience in our award winning restaurant. Or food is freshly made and offers restaurant lunches, healthy smoothies, afternoon teas and gourmet tasting menus. Our cellar houses 300 wines from around the globe. Whether it’s an En Rama Manzanilla or Pomerols from Bordeaux, you will be spoilt for choice.
Situated a short walk from the hotel, our fabulous Spa offers luxurious facilities for all. You’ll often enjoy a solo swim in our peaceful 15m swimming pool, supplemented by an outdoor hot-tub set on the balcony, and overlooking our beautiful lake.
If you feel the need to burn off ‘excess energy’, our fully equipped gym is there for your use, as is the tennis court. A gentle warm up on our putting green can prepare you for a game of golf on our Par 3, 9 hole golf course. If you simply want to be pampered, take advantage of a superbly relaxing massage whilst listening to the birds twittering outside – absolute serenity! There are a range of spa treatment rooms with fully trained therapists offering a wide range of health and beauty treatments.
