Meifod Country House is a luxurious family run hotel with traditional charm and elegance located in Bontenwydd in Gwynedd.
All the guest rooms at the hotel are individually designed with quality furnishings and high standards of décor, all rooms have en suite facilities, direct dial telephone, television and tea making facilities with robes, ironing board & iron plus individual toiletries.
Our intimate reception area with bar is for your comfort with a welcoming coal fire and subdued lighting to help you unwind after your journey. A large selection of drinks including local specialities are available.
We take great pride in the dishes that are served to our guests, the cooking relies on fresh local ingredients, meat from a local farmer/butcher, fish from the North Wales coast line and when in season locally produced herbs and vegetables. Our a la carte menu offers a wide choice of home cooked dishes well balanced to suit the most discerning of palates, so is the same for our lunch and evening bar meals with a choice of light snacks like ‘Meifod’s’ own club sandwich to the traditional favourites such as lasagne and steak & ale pie. We are happy to cater for any special diets and requests that you may have. We strive to make everyone’s dining experience a memorable one, so please do not hesitate to ask for an alternative choice from that on our normal menu. Also upon request we can create many special menus for your requirements (vegan, gluten free, lactose intolerant etc.)
The hotel is set within its own mature landscaped gardens. It provides the perfect out of town venue for business meetings and conferences with ample parking for all delegates. Our teams’ sole objective is to ensure your conference runs smoothly and professionally whether it is a large affair or smaller meeting. We can offer an extensive range of conference facilities including OHP, PA system, TV & video, flipchart, internet links etc. Meifod is ideal for your meeting or conference.
Its location makes it an ideal venue for your special occasion, be it a small intimate gathering or a grander affair. Lilian and her team offer their personal attention and experience in co-ordinating every detail of your wedding and will ensure the most important day of your life will be the most memorable day.
For our wedding breakfast we can seat up to 160, should your wedding be a larger affair we can accommodate up to 350 guests by arranging a luxurious Marquee Pavilion to be placed on our adjoining lawn. Our evening wedding parties can hold up to 220 guests not including the Marquee, should you require a marquee this can then hold up to 400 guests.
Meifod is situated 2 miles/5km south of Caernarfon (a World Heritage Site) on the A487 towards Porthmadog. The area has stunning scenery of mountains and sea with Snowdonia National Park only a few miles away.
