The Dower House Hotel is a beautiful country retreat that can be found in Lyme Regis, Dorset. Our hotel has received the Travellers Choice Award from TripAdvisor!
Our aim is to provide guests with a relaxed, family run hotel that provides all the luxury you would expect from a country home, while still providing modern facilities and well appointed guest rooms. We are also pet friendly so please let us know when booking if you would like to bring your canine friend.
We have 10 rooms available and 4 suites. All our hotel rooms have en suite bathrooms and benefit from flat screen TV’s with access to Freeview channels, free Wi-Fi, complimentary toiletries and hairdryers. Our superior rooms benefit from having White Company toiletries and bath robes and Nespresso coffee machines.
What better way to start the day than a freshly prepared Dower House cooked breakfast. Help yourself to cereals, fruits, yoghurts, Continental and English cold meats and cheeses from our buffet table. Follow this with a choice of cooked food such as traditional full English or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs all cooked to order to suit your specific taste. We pride ourselves on the quality of our locally sourced and freshly cooked breakfasts. We firmly believe that there really is no substitute for fresh and individually cooked top quality food imaginatively prepared and beautifully presented.
Why not come and relax in our intimate and welcoming lounge and bar. It is always warm and cosy in front of our wood burning stove when the weather is cold or, in the summer time, the sliding doors can be folded back leaving the room open to the beautiful rolling Devon hills. The hotel has a fully stocked bar at all times. In the summer guests are also welcome to enjoy out outdoor heated pool.
This area of coastline offers an amazing contrast, breath taking scenery and places of interest. East Devon and Dorset Coastline has been awarded World Heritage Site status, ranking the Jurassic Coast as one of the natural wonders of the world. To the west of Lyme, is the Undercliff National Nature Reserve, one of the wildest and most unspoilt areas of the coast and accessible only to walkers. For the more adventurous the Heritage Coast footpath stretches for over twenty miles to the east and west of Lyme. For those of you who crave something more, we recommend a visit to Beer, a romantic fishing port just a 10 minute drive from the hotel.
