Penkerris is an award-winning guest house, in a beautiful part of Cornwall. This enchanting creeper clad Edwardian residence is on the edge of St Agnes, an unspoiled Cornish village. Penkerris is a “home from home” and guests have access to the house and garden all day. It is a wonderful place to stay for those who want a relaxing break away, in a lovely part of Cornwall.
Our guest rooms have a comfortable and homely feel. They have been tastefully decorated and furnished, ensuring an enjoyable stay is had by all. The beds are made up with sheets and blankets but each also has a duvet. Several of the bedrooms contain a double and a single bed and are let as doubles, twins or as family rooms. Dogs are welcome to stay, so you can rest assured that the whole family is accommodated when staying with us.
Guests have access to a cosy lounge, providing a place for you to rest, relax or chat. There are two computers which you are welcome to use and, in the winter, the log fire warms the room beautifully. After a long day exploring Cornwall, this is a welcoming place to sit and rest.
Breakfast is included within the room rate and is cooked fresh to order each morning. An extensive breakfast menu is available, to suit a range of different tastes and appetites. Breakfast can be enjoyed in our beautiful dining room
Outside is a lawned area which fine for ball games as well as relaxation. Garden chairs with cushions are available along with picnic tables and a barbecue. There are swings for children and some toys. This is a lovely place to relax with your loved ones.
Shops, delightful old pubs and several restaurants are just around the corner and there are three lovely beaches, excellent for surfing, one with our beach hut within walking distance. Guests to Penkerris are welcome to use the hut, which has a magnificent view over the beach and out to sea.
Penkerris is only half a mile from the beaches and dramatic cliff walks. You can walk from one beach to another in St Agnes itself, including the path up over the famous St Agnes beacon, or along the coast in either direction. It is central for visiting the whole of Cornwall, including Lands End, St Michaels Mount and the Eden project. This part of Cornwall has also been immortalised by the author Winston Graham in his novels, for the setting of Poldark.
Please note, when following your Sat Nav, this will stop you 200 yards up the road from Penkerris at the garage. Continue into the 30 mile an hour limit and find us around the corner on the right.
