Situated in a peaceful rural setting on the edge of the charming town of Moffat, Hartfell House & The Limetree Restaurant is the perfect choice for bed and breakfast accommodation. It overlooks the surrounding hills, yet is only a few minutes walk from the attractive town centre.
Each room has en-suite shower facilities and is equipped with digital free view TV, radio alarm and hairdryer. Our hospitality trays offer a range of fair trade tea and coffee including decaffeinated and herbal options and Scottish Border biscuits. Most of our beds have memory foam mattresses which together with our luxurious towels and complimentary Scottish Fine Soap toiletries ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible.
We have a guest lounge on the first floor with comfortable seating and commanding stunning views of the Moffat hills. Off road parking is located opposite the guest house. A computer with internet access is available in the entrance hall for guest use.

Dining Options
A full Scottish breakfast is cooked to order and a continental buffet is also provided. In the evening the dining room is transformed into The Limetree Restaurant. This AA Rosette award winning restaurant is very popular with Moffat residents and we are delighted to offer our guests the chance to dine here. Acclaimed chef Matt Seddon sources the finest seasonal ingredients locally and combines them to produce a charismatic blend of modern and traditional cooking. Advance booking is recommended.
Moffat is a town perfect for relaxing. There are a number of great walks within the town and local hills and the coast to coast Southern Upland way passes nearby. Within a few miles is the dramatic scenery of the Devil’s Beef Tub and the beauty of the Grey Mare’s Tail Nature Reserve. The Moffat Golf Course offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Moffat is also renowned for its wide selection of independent specialist shops and cafés, perfect for browsing.
