Armidale Cottages offers outstanding accommodation in the old village of Seaton. Our guest house near Workington is nestled in half an acre of scenic grounds and was once 2 cottages that were built over 100 years ago. The property has been beautifully renovated to offer wonderful accommodation in this lovely part of Cumbria.
Our charming guest house retains many original features, including a stone staircase, oak beams, a large walk-in inglenook fireplace, wooden and stone floors, whilst offering high-quality accommodation.
The rooms come with a super king-size bed and Wi-Fi/internet access. In the morning a hearty full English breakfast is served in the dining room which also has a wood-burning stove. We use locally sourced ingredients. Packed lunches are available on request.
You can unwind in the cosy lounge or relax in our pretty outside seating areas with a coffee. The gardens have been lovingly maintained for over 25 years and recently exotic plants have been added to the decking area. You can also see an abundance of wildlife around the garden, including barn owls, red squirrels, pheasants, bats and hedgehogs
We have a luxurious and secluded wood-fired sauna, at the back of the orchard just behind the apple tree. This is the perfect place to rejuvenate yourself and relax from the stresses and strains of modern life. £20 per hour for use of the sauna and guests receive a free hour when you stay 2 nights or more. An ice bucket is also available for guests.
The quaint village of Seaton is based between Workington and Cockermouth. Seaton is close to the coastal plains of the Solway Firth, with its glorious views towards the Scottish mountains and fells of the Lake District. Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater are all accessible by car. We are ideal for cyclists and walkers and on the Coast 2 Coast route.
