The Wind in the Willows Country House Hotel is situated on 5 acres of land in the market town of Glossop, Derbyshire. The hotel was built in the early Victorian era, this former mill owners house has retained its original oak panelling, open log fires, traditional furnishings and since 1999 has been privately owned by the Wilkinson family.
All the twelve guest bedrooms are fully en suite, individually designed and decorated, and all enjoying views of the surrounding countryside of the Peak District National Park. The private conference suite provides meeting facilities for up to sixteen people. There is ample parking within the hotel grounds.
The dining room has gained an excellent reputation for traditional cuisine, freshly prepared using local produce. The menu is complemented by carefully selected wines, served in charming period surroundings. Private dining is available for special occasions and landmark birthday celebrations.
Such a setting makes for a cosy hideaway, but also one which has a wealth of attractions and activities. The area offers breathtaking scenery of the High Peak, nearby attractive villages of Hayfield, Holmfirth, with Buxton, Bakewell, Baslow, Hathersage and Ashford-in-the-Water only a short drive away.
