Trigony is a luxury Scottish country house hotel in Thornhill. Based in a gorgeous mature woodland and gardens in Dumfries & Galloway, we offer a wonderfully relaxed style, award winning rustic cuisine and friendly local staff. We are pet friendly and can organise a range of activities, from classic car experiences to rejuvenating spa treatments.
We have 9 unique and beautifully furnished rooms available. All the rooms vary in size and layout and come with en suite facilities. With comfort and relaxation in mind, a butler’s tray is supplied with homemade shortbread and real coffee, as well as tea and hot chocolate. Luxurious organic toiletries from ishga on the Isle of Lewis are also provided.
The larger of the hotel rooms have a small comfortable seating area and the Garden Suite has its own conservatory and private garden. Most of the rooms have views over the gardens and the Lowther Hills to the east while others look over the Kier hills to the West. One of the rooms is at the back of the hotel and looks over the woodland which now covers an old Roman Fort.
Our award-winning restaurant offers rustic cuisine & an informal dining experience. All our ingredients is sourced locally and we use free range and organic produce where possible. We offer a range of tantalising dishes, including guinea fowl with caramelised garlic and wild rabbit with a balsamic pickled walnut terrine. All of our dishes are complemented by wines which have been carefully chosen to blend with the food.
You can relax with a drink or two at our cosy bar in front of the roaring log fire. We offer wines, malt whiskies, Scottish craft gins and a large collection of local craft bottle conditioned beers.
There are a variety of activities to enjoy in the area, including a memorable falconry experience in the hotel grounds and the surrounding countryside and horse riding through the Nithsdale valley. Great attractions to see include:
